“100 Bucks Says Hamilton Gave Her This Idea”: F1 Fans React as Kim Kardashian Sends a Gift to Antonelli

The 'towelgate' controversy from F1's Monaco Grand Prix has taken a rather sweet turn. Kim Kardashian, who was Lewis Hamilton's guest in the Ferrari garage, had taken the towel kept on the P1 stand for race winner Kimi Antonelli to wipe her face, and the video of that moment quickly went viral on social media.

Kardashian received backlash for her action, and IndyCar/F1 analyst Will Buxton couldn't believe the "entitlement" she showed in that moment. However, ahead of the Barcelona race weekend, Mercedes made an opportunistic move and posted a hilarious Instagram reel about Antonelli looking for his towel.

That reel got great traction and over 1.1 million likes. Evidently, it also gained Kim Kardashian's attention. The Skims founder continued the towel lore and sent a personalized towel to Kimi Antonelli in the Barcelona paddock on Friday.

Mercedes delivered Kardashian's gift to Antonelli after a practice session in Barcelona on Friday, after he returned to the garage.

The 19-year-old F1 driver untied the pink bow on it and read the words on the towel: "To Kimi from Kim".

In response, he said: "Thank you, Kim. Is it actually from her?"

A crew member responded that the gift was indeed from Kardashian. Antonelli then put the towel around his neck and, with it, also roamed the paddock on his scooter.

F1 fans couldn't believe that this crossover had so many installments and didn't just end in Monaco.

Kim Kardashian's Gesture Wins F1 Fans Over

The comments under the IG reel shared by F1's official account were flooded with fans loving the drama. One theorized that it might have been Lewis Hamilton's idea that his rumored partner, Kim Kardashian, acted upon.

"100 bucks says Hamilton gave her this idea," they wrote.

Another joked about how the 19-year-old Mercedes driver landed a successful commercial launch from a controversial moment.

"Bro lost a towel and got a New launch: KIMI x KIM Monaco Towel Limited Edition Collection™," read their message.

Some fans also hailed Kardashian for taking the infamous moment in her stride and carrying on the saga. They wrote:

"Love how she took that joke as well! She’s cool."

The official account of the Silverstone circuit, which hosts F1's British Grand Prix, also commented, writing:

"Full circle moment."

The official account of the city of Las Vegas also joined in, joking how Netflix struck gold with such content for Season 9 of "Drive to Survive."

"Netflix just found its season finale," read the comment.

We wouldn't be surprised if the next time Kim Kardashian attends an F1 race weekend, she also tours the Mercedes garage and meets Kimi Antonelli, who is currently dominating the 2026 F1 season with five wins in six races.
